Family Visit Extended

I've returned from my visit to my hometown to see my sister's new baby. She is beautiful! Ella looks like a giant compared to little Kenna. She is so dainty and long! We had tons of time to bond and I miss her already.

Unfortunately, the main reason why we were able to bond for so long was due to bad circumstances. My sister had some sort of allergic reaction and broke out in hives Sunday night. She went to see a local doctor in the morning but she began to swell from the inside and went into respiratory distress before she was given an adrenaline shot as she was rushed to the emergency room. So scary... and I wish I could say that was the end of that. The hives/swelling came back so she returned to the emergency room where she was given a different set of drugs but it only helped temporarily. As I write, Angel is now in a different emergency room because the hives have broken out once again and even more seriously this time. She went into respiratory distress again and was given another adrenaline shot. She has yet to see a doctor.

I feel so bad that I'm not there again to help watch the girls while Angel needs me. They have family there to help, though, and hopefully we can get this figured out this time. At the very least, she has an appointment with an allergenist tomorrow. It's just so frustrating and scary to watch her go through the head-to-toe swelling and itching over and over again and we're hopeful that the visit with the specialist will be more informative so she can be more proactive with this.

Please keep her in your prayers and thoughts. She needs to be well for her little girlies!

Anyway, so that I don't leave on a bad note, here is a cute picture of Adelyn and her cousin, Gracen, sharing some cookie dough.

Speaking of yummy food in a bowl (ha!), here are a couple pictures of Ella having her first bite of solid food last week.
